Abstract: The study on the fishing activities of trawlers and gillnets was conducted from May to October 2018 in Kien Giang province. The results showed that the trawlers and gillnets had highest number of fishing boats and yields. Trawlers and gillnets have been operated whole year round. The main fishing season of trawlers was from October to coming April and from April to August for the gillnets. The fishing capacity of trawling boats (47.8±24.6 HP) was much larger than that of gillnets boats (26.6±11.4 HP).
