Abstract: Started in the 2013 by president Mwai Kibaki government, CDF education programmes have been in place across the country. However, the debate on whether this raises the standards of education still loop across news headlines and even in expert discussion tables. The study was guided by one objective: To establish the effect of the CDF fee subsidies on the standards of education in public schools in Kiharu constituency, Murang’a county.
