Abstract:
This study sought to find out the impact of Polya’s Problem Solving Model on students’ mathematics performance in junior secondary schools in Zamfara State Nigeria. Two research questions were drawn and two hypotheses were formulated and tested at 0.05 level of significant. Quasi-experimental design was used for the study. The population of the study is (229) junior secondary schools with an estimated population of (97,334) students. A sample of (360) students was drawn from six junior secondary schools. A multi-stage sampling technique was used to select the schools and intact classes were selected using connivance sampling techniques. The researcher used Polya’s Problem Solving Instructional Model (PPSIM) as treatment for experimental groups while Discussion Method was used for control group.
