Abstract:
Ovarian tumors, while predominantly found in adult women, are not entirely uncommon in the pediatric and adolescent population. These tumors, particularly in young girls, can pose significant challenges due to their rarity and the subtlety of early symptoms. The diagnosis and management of ovarian tumors in adolescents are critical, as they can significantly impact a young womans reproductive health and overall well-being. Among the various types of ovarian tumors, mucinous cystadenomas, though rare in adolescents, can present with dramatic clinical manifestations, as they often grow to considerable sizes before being detected. This article explores the complexities of diagnosing and managing a massive ovarian mucinous cystadenoma in an 18-year-old girl, highlighting the importance of early detection and the multidisciplinary approach required for successful treatment.
