Abstract: This study employed molecular technique to identify protease-producing bacteria from beans effluent-impacted soil and screened the isolates for the presence of two principal extracellular protease-encoding genes (apr and npr). Protease-producing bacteria were isolated from beans effluent-impacted soil in Rumuosi, Port Harcourt, Rivers State Nigeria. Protease production was determined by plate screening and enzyme activity assay methods.
