Diesel engine performance evaluation on transesterified gmelina seed oil catalysed by thermally modified Iyi-Nsukka kaolin clay catalyst compared to fossil diesel and blends

Abstract: The thermally modified Iyi-Nsukka kaolinite clay catalyst (TMIKCCat800) was prepared and characterised by X-ray Diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and Atomic abrasion spectrophotometry (AAS) to verify catalyst properties. Gmelina seed oil was extracted using Soxhlet extraction method using hexane as solvent.
