Abstract:
A growing body of opinion suggests that historic buildings promote different values to communities through adaptive reuse. The government of Tanzania has allowed historic buildings in Bagamoyo to be reused to promote sustainability in the community. This paper examines how adaptive reuse of historic buildings helps to promote social values the society cherishes and seeks to promote.
