Abstract:
50 pigeonpea genotypes were evaluated to study the nature and magnitude of relationship of important agronomic traits with seed yield along with their direct and indirect effects. Days to maturity, number of primary branches per plant number of pods per plant, and harvest index had significant positive association with seed yield, also showed direct positive effect in determining yield in pigeonpea. Hence due emphasis should be given to number of pods per plant, number of primary branches and harvest index for improvement of seed yield in pigoenpea.
