Abstract:
Thēra Mahinda is stipulated as Dīpaprasādaka in Sri Lanka. In the Aśōkāvadāna, there is no reference at all of the Mahinda. He was the son of Emperor Aśoka. At the age of twelve years a monk (age of 32) guided by his teacher Moggaliputtatissa, thēra Mahinda visited to Sri Lanka with six other fellows. He introduced the Buddhism to Sri Lank.
