Abstract:
Social networks continue to play a central role in the lives of Ethiopian youths. The safety of these online spaces and the risky behaviors in which youth engage is of utmost importance. There are youths who face risks and are harmed online. Indeed, some youths are more at risk than others. Those youths who have psychosocial issues; family and school problems, are far more likely to be under threat than the average youth using the internet. This study explores the risks and threats of youths on social networks through assessing their attitudes towards risks; prominent threats; and risk aversion strategies.
