Abstract:
Nonsteroidal Anti-inflammatory Drugs are synthetic drugs that are widely used to treat inflammation, but it is associated with adverse effects in the gastro intestinal and cardiovascular systems. Therefore, this study was aimed to investigate the anti-inflammatory properties of Rauvolfia tetraphylla (Family: Apocynaceae). Aqueous root extract of R. tetraphylla was used to examine the in vitro anti-inflammatory effect with diclofenac sodium as the reference drug, using in vitro heat induced egg albumin denaturation assay.
