Ecocentrism for the Sustainable Conservation and Management of Elephants in Southern Africa
      Nyathi Lubelihle Marcia, Amos Simwela
Abstract: Elephant population management in Southern Africa has been an issue of concern for over 50 years now and continue to be an issue as their rate of reproduction is exceeding the carrying capacity of the land and the resources available in the ecosystems for their survival. Ecocentrism is a philosophy that advocates for the respect of non-human nature and that making decisions about nature should not be human centered (anthropocentric) or done just for the benefit of humans.
