Abstract:
Background & objectives: Pulmonary tuberculosis diagnosis rely on demonstration of the acid- fast bacilli (AFB) in sputum samples. Difficult issue arises when a patient who is suspected of tuberculosis does not produce adequate amount of sputum. About 40-60% of patients with suspected pulmonary tuberculosis may fail to produce sputum. We conducted a prospective study to compare the stand of induced sputum and bronchoscopy in sputum Smear negative Pulmonary tuberculosis with clinical features and radiologically suggestive of active Pulmonary tuberculosis.
