Abstract:
The Implement-type cassava planting machine was attached to a hand tractor and was designed using AutoCAD and made of locally available materials using local manufacturing technology. The purpose of this machine was to increase the production of planting cassava and to decrease labor requirements. The machine consists majorly of a hopper, discharge chute, furrow opener, harrower, ground wheel and metering device. The machine performance was evaluated using 2.14, 2.28 and 2.67 kph travelling forward speed.
