Abstract:
Whereas the Kerio Valley Delta, in Kenya, like many other arid and semi-arid regions has been experiencing pastoralist and ethnic conflicts that has resulted to the increased numbers of humanitarian aid by Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO), there seems to be little empirical focus to isolate the factors relating to maintaining status as factors behind escalation of conflict and the shift in the nature and intensity of the conflict. The study thus, sought to establish the relationship between maintaining status and conflict dynamism within Kerio Valley Delta, Kenya.
