Abstract:
Kenya is a developing country still at the stage of providing infrastructures in health, education, agriculture and administrative as well as living facilities for its rapidly growing population. Towards this end there are a good number of construction projects at different stages of implementation in Trans-Nzoia County. There are however conflicting views on the schedule performance of most of the projects with some stakeholders especially the intended users arguing that they are delayed while the implementers believe that they are on course. Although schedule delays are common features in all construction projects the identification of the main causes of schedule delays and the implementation of actions that prevent these delays are fundamental steps for resolving delay related issues. There is therefore a need to identify the causes of project delay and propose effective methods to improve time performance and avoid or minimize losses.
