Abstract:
In this work dipropyl sulphide was evaluated as a corrosion inhibitor for zinc in 0.5N sulphuric acid by weight loss, gasometry and thermometry methods. Results obtained revealed that the inhibitor performed well in the acid solution. The inhibition efficiency increased with increase in the concentration of the inhibitor. The adsorption of the inhibitor molecules on the zinc metal surface obeyed Temkin adsorption isotherm.
