In Kenya the ministry of education has developed a number of strategies to improve performance of female students with special emphasis on the arid and semi-arid lands (ASALs). Despite these efforts, reports from the ministry of education indicate that school completion rate among girls in ASALs that are predominantly Muslim is still low.
