Abstract:
Porter’s Five Forces model is a powerful management tool for analyzing the current industry profitability and attractiveness by using the outside perspective. The general objective of this study was to establish the influence of Porter’s five models on the performance of telecommunication companies in Kenya. The study was guided by the following specific research objectives: to establish the influence of new entrants on the performance of telecommunication companies in Kenya; to determine how substitute products affect performance of telecommunication companies in Kenya; to establish the effect of bargaining power of suppliers on performance of telecommunication companies in Kenya and; to establish the effect of industry rivalry on the performance of telecommunication companies in Kenya.
