Abstract:
One of the many wetlands in Manipur that is intricately linked to human mythology, folklore, and economic life is Kharung Lake. The goal of this study is to assess the macrophytes quantitative characteristics, specifically their frequency and density and abundance. Throughout the course of the investigation, 52 species of macrophytic plants from 25 families were discovered scattered throughout the lake. The research used SPSS statistical instruments to determine the connection between the species. The maximum density was exhibited by Leersia hexandra (114.3 plant m¯²) and the maximum frequency value was also shown by Leersia hexandra (100%). The highest abundance value was exhibited by Leersia hexandra (122.5 plant m¯²). The dominant species was also found to be Leersia hexandra which led to the formation of floating Island.
