Abstract:
One of the problems in software development is to estimate the efforts in person hours required to develop the software application. Software developers quote their rates in dollars/ hour. However, the customer must have an idea of the cost of development. If the rate quoted is high, then the customer may turn to another developer. If the rate quoted is too low, then the software developer incurs losses. This paper examines the challenges of software estimation and suggests metrics used to size the software.
