Abstract:
This article examines Dumb Luck by Vu Trong Phung through the lens of postcolonial theory, analyzing its critique of hybrid modernity in colonial Vietnamese society. Drawing on the works of Homi Bhabha and Frantz Fanon, the paper explores how Vu Trong Phung employs irony, parody, and grotesque characterization to expose the absurdities of a culture torn between colonial influence and traditional values.
