Abstract:
Intertrochanteric fractures are one of the most common injuries sustained predominantly in patients over fifty years. They are two to three times more common in osteoporotic women; trivial fall being the most common mode of injury1. Earlier, for many, this fracture had high morbidity, resulting in death due to cardiac, pulmonary or renal complications. Approximately 20 to 30% of patients die within one year due to intertrochanteric fracture2
