Abstract:
The primary aim of the study was to develop and validate a Contextualized Strategic Intervention Material (CSIM) titled Implasyon to address the least-learned competency in Grade 9 Social Studies – Economics, specifically focusing on students understanding of inflation. Using the ADDIE model and following the Strategic Intervention Material (SIM) format, the CSIM targeted gaps identified through School Monitoring, Evaluation, and Adjustment (SMEA) results. Experts evaluated the material for both content and usability, using a research questionnaire adapted from a previous study and translated to Filipino for clarity and alignment to the subject medium of instruction. Content validation confirmed that the CSIM aligned with educational standards, demonstrating high quality in terms of objectives, technical aspects, and content relevance. Usability validation emphasized its practicality and ease of classroom implementation, though minor refinements for time management were suggested. The study found the CSIM to be a valuable instructional tool, designed to bridge specific learning gaps and enhance students comprehension of inflation while supporting Social Studies instruction. Additionally, the study contributes to the body of knowledge by providing a locally contextualized educational resource that can serve as a model for similar interventions in other areas of the subject Social Studies.
