“Police Reforms Symbolic”; Rethinking Police Reforms and residents of Informal Settlements in Urban Kenya
Joseph Owino Gilo, Dr. Fred N.Ikanda
Abstract: Globally, policing reforms have increasingly sought to shift law enforcement from coercive, force-oriented models toward citizen-centered, service-oriented approaches in order to improve accountability, legitimacy, and public trust. In Kenya, this reform agenda intensified after the 2007–2008 post-election violence and culminated in the constitutional and legal transition from the Kenya Police Force to the National Police Service.
