This paper presents and discusses a study on effective techniques employed by teachers in teaching early reading through phonics approach. The study aimed to describe the implementation of these techniques to determine teachers’ perception on the techniques that impacted their students’ reading comprehension. An explanatory sequential mixed method research design was employed and conducted in two phases.
