Abstract:
Physiological and behavioural changes during pregnancy place expectant women at increased risk for malaria with the possibility of affecting diverse blood parameters. This study aimed to determine the prevalence and haematological indices of malaria parasitaemia among pregnant women in Ekpoma, Edo State, Nigeria. One hundred and fifty (150) pregnant women, consisting of 50 subjects from each trimester that met the inclusion criteria were used. Relevant data were obtained from the medical records.
