Abstract: Background: Thiamine may be considered as adjunctive therapy in patients with sepsisThiamine administration reduced the Matrix metalloproteinase 9 / Tissue inhibitors of matrix metalloproteinase 1 (TIMP-1/MMP-9) ratio, which could be associated with better survival. Thiamine can reduce Interleukin-6 (IL-6) levels in patients with sepsis. Thiamine is negatively correlated with lactate levels, thiamine deficiency significantly increases lactate levels.
