Context: Dark or black coloured gum is one of the aesthetic concern of patients reporting to dental clinics. The normal colour of the gingiva is coral pink. Dark pigmentation of the gums occurs due to excessive melanin deposition in gingival epithelium which can be treated using several techniques.
