Abstract:
In the present study, the adsorbent prepared from the leaves of Andrographis paniculata was used for the removal of nickel(II) ions from wastewater. The adsorption process was influenced by various parameters such as contact time, adsorbent dose, temperature, pH and dye concentration. The equilibrium data fitted well to both Langmuir and Freundlich isotherm models. The results revealed that the adsorbent obtained from Andrographis paniculata leaf could be employed as an effective low cost adsorbent for the removal of nickel (II) ions from waste water.
