Abstract:
Education is a decisive component of human development, and progress towards this goal will deeply influence that towards other Millennium Development Goals. Primary education is the source for high-quality skills development in numeracy and literacy, which are critical for skills development in scientific and technological education. All human beings should have the prospect to make a better life for themselves. Regrettably, too many children in the world today grow up without this prospect, because they are denied their basic right to even attend primary school.
