A comparative study of Prevalence, Manifestations and Severity of falciparum and vivax Malaria Among Adults at Merowe City, Sudan 2021-2022

Abstract: Malaria is a significant health problem worldwide, especially in African countries like Sudan. It is caused by Plasmodium genus. There are five known species of Plasmodium to cause malaria in humans: P. falciparum, P. vivax, P. ovale, P. malariae, and P. knowlesi. Majority of cases are caused by Plasmodium falciparum and Plasmodium vivax. Plasmodium vivax is the most frequent cause of recurring malaria.
