Abstract: Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a non-communicable disease, a chronic condition that occurs when the body cannot produce enough insulin or cannot use insulin effectively. Diabetic complications always became a serious concern affecting patients quality of life. Indonesia government has a Chronic Disease Management Program called PROLANIS, intending to encourage patients with type 2 diabetes Mellitus and hypertension to achieve optimal quality of life. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of health education on changes in knowledge and attitudes of PROLANIS patients about diabetic eye disease. The study was conducted at the Sekaran Health Center, Semarang, in August 2022. The study was carried out according to the schedule for the PROLANIS activity, which was on August 5, 2022. The study used the Pre-Experimental designs with one group pretest-posttest design. The number of samples was calculated using the Lemeshow formula to test the hypothesis of the proportion of the population in paired groups. The research sample was selected by purposive sampling totaling 36 PROLANIS Diabetes Mellitus patients at the Sekaran Health Center. The result There is a significant increase in the knowledge and attitude level of PROLANIS patients about diabetic eye disease before and after health education. Of this research suggest that it is important for the health department to improving the promotive program to prevent diabetic eye complications by providing health education as one of the promotional programs that carried out regularly.
