Abstract:
A highly effective and neat reaction protocol for the removal of mercury ions from the industrial effluents and organic compounds using a selective combination of ionic liquid such as 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium hydrogen sulfate [BMIM] [HSO4] and activated charcoal. This combination has been proved to be more successful as compared to conventional methods for the removal of such heavy metals.
