The Need for Clinical Pharmacy Services in Sri Lanka; a Study Based on the Prevalence of Drug Related Problems in Two Hospitals.

Abstract: Clinical pharmacy is a discipline utilized in most countries to rationalize medication use. The key functions of a Clinical Pharmacist include the identification, prevention and solution of Drug Related Problems (DRPs). The objectives of this study were to assess the need for clinical pharmacists in Sri Lankan hospital inpatient care focusing on the prevalence of DRPs to understand the perception of doctors and nurses on introducing this service to Sri Lanka.
