Abstract: The CAMEL model—an acronym for Capital Adequacy, Asset Quality, Management Efficiency, Earnings, and Liquidity—is widely recognized as a diagnostic tool for assessing bank performance. This paper presents a comprehensive CAMEL-based evaluation of the State Bank of India (SBI), India’s largest public sector bank, over the eleven-year period from FY 2014–15 to FY 2024–25. Data from annual reports, RBI bulletins, and the CMIE Prowess database were analyzed using ratio-based trend analysis.
