Abstract:
Sustaining energy consumption and enhancing energy efficiency remain key policy issues in Uganda. This paper employs a stochastic frontier analysis (SFA) to analyze the determinants of household energy consumption and efficiency in Uganda. The study utilized data collected from 344 domestic energy consumers in Uganda. Stochastic energy frontier results indicate that mean electrical efficiency for domestic electricity consumers was 74.5 percent.
