Abstract:
Parents plays an important role in a child’s life. They provide for physical, emotional and social needs which are required for the holistic development of the child. But losing parents at an early stage of life can have disastrous impact on the overall development of the child. Even though the child is provided an alternate option of being in an institutional home but a huge gap exists in the fulfilment of psychological needs and well-being. Several studies have supported that this gap can lead to behavioural issues and psychological problems like depression, aloofness, reticence in the child.
