Abstract:
The number of American prison inmates incarcerated in the criminal justice system impacts society both economically and socially. However, the criminal justice system has fallen far short of the rehabilitation goal to facilitate the effective reintegration of male inmates into society and promote acceptable social behaviors upon re-entry. A constructive look at the needs of the criminal justice system and those of the criminal justice population points towards the urgency for increased identification and implementation of best practices.
