A total of 75 raw milk samples were collected from dairy farmers from three milk collecting centres (MCC), Mahayayawatta(MW); n=33, Makandura town area (MKT); n=22 and Pahala Makandura (PM); n=20, during the period from June to August 2013. All the samples were subjected to physicochemical, microbiological, platform, and keeping quality tests. Meanwhile all the farmers were interviewed using a pre-tested questionnaire to assess hygienic practices.
