Abstract:
This study critically examines womens safety and inclusivity in public spaces, focusing on residential streets in Lucknow, India—a city noted for both its cultural heritage and rising gender-based safety concerns. With increasing female labor force participation and urbanization, ensuring secure and inclusive urban environments is essential. The research integrates spatial, social, and infrastructural analyses across three key study areas—Chowk, Patrakarpuram, and Sushant Golf City—using methods such as safety audits, visual surveys, GIS mapping, and structured interviews with 100 female residents and stakeholders.
