Abstract:
There has been a growing concern in Kenya over the high number of collapsing buildings with Nairobi and Kiambu counties recording the highest number of collapsing buildings. The collapse of buildings often results into loss of lives of the occupants and casual workers. It also leads to massive loss of investment for the government and investors involved in the construction industry. Collapsing buildings impacts negatively on the national development agenda and in Sustainable Development Goals on provision of safe and affordable housing.
