Abstract:
Energy subsidy is an essential ingredient in diffusion of new technologies .Subsidy initiatives in sustainable energy technology market in humanitarian settings aim to lower the market price and spread the duration of payments hence creating an incentive to consume more of a good or service. Adoption of sustainable energy technologies can thus be discussed in the light of subsidy initiatives structure. Some of the twin reasons for low adoption of SET in the camps is high upfront cost that inhibits access and installment payment that can foster adoption.
