Abstract:
In Wyoming USA, vegetable production is challenging for vegetable growers, whether home gardeners or commercial producers due to a short growing season, high elevation and a relatively cool climate. A significant limitation to local vegetable production is that virtually no vegetable varieties have been bred in Wyoming for local adaptation. As a cool season annual crop, pea has potential for vegetable production in Wyoming. The objective of this study was to produce winterhardy vegetable peas that combine the characteristics of fresh, edible peas with the winterhardiness of feed peas.
