Abstract:
Climate change is a major concern worldwide. The combination of climate change, rapid urbanization, industrialization, population growth, and low environmental awareness poses a major threat to Kenya’s valuable water resources, which are important to the country’s ecosystem. There is an urgent need to monitor and assess these resources, as this information is indispensable for sustainable decision-making and water resources management. The paper seeks to highlight the impacts of climate change and urbanization in Kenya and the strategies being implemented by the Government to mitigate or reduce these impacts as well as provide suggests for future solutions.
