The present study evaluated the antioxidative and biological activity of the aqueous, ethanolic and methanolic extract from leaf and root of aromatic herb, Houttuyniacordata (HC). The yield were found to be 7.67±0.33 to 9.33±0.58 %, 9.00±0.58 to 10.67±0.33 % and 11.33±0.33 to 13.67±0.58 % of root to leaf in different solvent of aqueous, ethanolic and methanolic solvent extraction. The parameters such as 2, 2-Diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) scavenging assay, total phenol contents (TPC), ferric reducing antioxidant power assay (FRAP), superoxide anion radical scavenging activity (NTZ), haemolytic assay (HA) and genoprotective assay were analysed.
