Abstract: Kenya’s economy is characterized by a disproportionately large informal sector, which accounts for over 80% of employment and contributes significantly to the country’s GDP. However, this sector remains largely unregulated, untaxed, and excluded from formal economic planning. Youth unemployment in Kenya, currently estimated at over 35%, is exacerbated by barriers to formal employment and limited access to business support infrastructure.
