Abstract:
Hemorrhoids are the most common benign anorectal problems occuring worldwide. The preferred treatment for third- and fourth-degree hemorrhoids is surgical. Hemorrhoidectomy is one of the most commonly performed anorectal operations. Stapled hemorrhoidectomy, which was termed as stapled hemorrhoidopexy (PPH), was first described in 1995. It has been associated with improved short-term outcomes, including less postoperative pain, short operating time, early recovery and greater patient satisfaction.
