Abstract:
The pneumonia like disease caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2), named as coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), continues to be a global public health issue even today. The disease first reported in Wuhan, China in December 2019, earned a pandemic status within couple of months as it spread to various parts of the globe, infecting a substantial world population and exhibiting high mortality rate. However, many studies indicated that despite being a global health issue the impact was not homogenous across the globe, few countries suffered more as compared to others. Further, a large number of reported deaths worldwide, were attributed to comorbid conditions.
