Abstract:
The production of cement is very costly and it is one of the major human activities responsible in the rise of Co2 –emissions. To minimize the cost of concrete production and reduce the negative environmental impact due to Co2 emissions, it is important to use innovative technology and method for the design of concrete structures and concrete mixes. In this paper, it is shown how particle packing technology i.e. continuous grading techniques and concrete admixture can be used to reduce the amount of cement required in the concrete mix, resulting more economical, stronger and environmentally friendly concrete mixes.
